Trilegal Mumbai has promoted its Counsel Ashwyn Misra to the post of Partner effective from April 1, 2012. The GLC-Mumbai graduate has been working at Trilegal for close to a decade, focusing on the corporate practice including M&A and infrastructure.

Speaking to Bar & Bench, Misra says that he is delighted at the promotion but the truth still has not fully sunk in. When asked what sets Trilegal apart, Misra says that “It’s a complete meritocracy here….that is what is really stands out in my mind right now.”  He joined Trilegal in 2004 as an associate and has not left the firm ever since. “It’s a great place to work, everyone has a chance.” says Misra, offering his own example as proof.

When asked about his future plans, Misra says that he will continue to focus on corporate M&A but also devote some time to other practice areas. As for the topic of the possible entry of foreign law firms, Misra is confident that Trilegal will not be negatively affected if foreign firms were to enter the country. “We are pretty much among the best firms in our practice areas, ranging from Media & Telecom to Corporate M&A” notes Misra.
