O’Melveny & Myers (OMM) has hired Pooja Sinha as Counsel for its Singapore office. Pooja Sinha joins OMM from the Singapore office of Linklaters where she spent two years.

Speaking to Bar & Bench she said, “O'Melveny provides me with a great platform and a leadership role to further develop an India practice”. She added, “While O'Melveny is relatively new to India, it has a very strong presence in Asia and China”.

Bar & Bench spoke to Partner David Makarechian, who said, “Our (OMM) focus is to expand the India offerings and Pooja is well respected in the market. Bringing her will help us to expand and provide greater breadth of services to our clients in the long term and Pooja is part of that long term strategy”.

Bertie Mehigan, head of O’Melveny’s Singapore office, commented, “We are thrilled to welcome Pooja to our Singapore office. Her arrival strengthens our growing India-focused practice.”

Pooja, an alumnus of National Law School of India University has previously worked with Amarchand Mangaldas in Delhi and Clifford Chance in London where she was part of the capital markets team. She also holds a BCL from the University of Oxford.

OMM has been aggressively biding for Government IPOs. Earlier this year, OMM-Amarchand bid for EIL and although they qualified for the final rounds for the EIL disinvestment, lost out to Luthra on the fee quote.
