Amarchand Delhi, which is celebrating its 30 years of establishing the Delhi office, has inducted a Tax Partner. Nageswar Rao (pictured), who was the Country Head for Tax for Siemens has now joined Amarchand. He has also worked as a tax consultant for the Coca-Cola Group.

The Amarchand release said, “Like Aseem and Gagan, Nageswar is one of the very few tax litigation counsels in Delhi who have both chartered accountancy and law as professional qualifications”.

Speaking to Bar & Bench, Nageswar said, “I am excited about the opportunity that Amarchand offered. I have worked in the area of Direct and Indirect Taxes and hope to add value to the tax practice at Amarchand."

Managing Partner of the Delhi office, Shardul Shroff said, “Nageswar would be an asset to the firm in its quest for excellence and extending our litigation forays into new areas of tax litigation, tax planning, EPC Contracts, matters before Settlement Commission, and mutual agreement procedures under DTAA”.

Earlier this year, Shardul Shroff had spoken about the firm's plans on hiring nearly 8-10 Partners this year through lateral recruitment and promotions within the firm. In June this year, the Delhi office of Amarchand had promoted Tejas Karia and Prashant Gupta as Partners.
