RIL's counsel, Harish Salve, on Wednesday suggested to the Supreme Court that the post-contractual agreements could be a suitable arrangement to resolve the dispute with RNRL and the price fixed for distributing gas to NTPC could be applied to settle the row. However, Mohan Parasaran, appearing for the Government, objected on the grounds that they cannot raise the issue of contract with a PSU in this matter as the RIL-NTPC matter is pending before the Bombay High Court.

RNRL's counsel, Ram Jethmalani, accused the government of being hand in glove with RIL, saying, "I will demonstrate that if not the whole government, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas is in absolute conspiracy with RIL."

The Court today asked Salve how increasing the price of the gas is in public interest. The Bench observed, "If the price is less, the country gains. If it's more, only you gain." Salve today concluded his arguments, and RNRL counsel Jethmalani will now take over at the next hearing.
