Orissa, Gujarat High Courts get new Chief Justices

Justice Bilal Nazki [pictured] of the Bombay High Court has been elevated to the post of Chief Justice of the Orissa High Court. Justice Mukhopadhaya has also assumed charge as the Chief Justice of the Gujarat High Court.
These appointments follow the elevation of the Chief Justices of five High Courts to the Supreme Court and the consequent reshuffle. The candidates for the remaining three vacancies have not been confirmed. Justice Mukul Mudgal of the Delhi High Court is touted to be elevated as Chief Justice of the Punjab & Haryana High Court, and Justice J.S. Khehar is tipped to be the Chief Justice of the Uttarakhand High Court.
