Hyderabad-based Juris Prime merges with Kochhar amp Co

Kochhar & Co. has absorbed Hyderabad-based full service law firm Juris Prime to expand its practice in Hyderabad. The Founding Partner V.V.S.N. Raju joins as Resident Partner and Head of the Kochhar Hyderabad office along with his team of six lawyers.

Speaking to Bar & Bench, Raju said, “Juris Prime has office only in Hyderabad while Kochhar has a large network and now we will be part of that larger network. Kochhar has lot of MNC clients in Hyderabad and we will also be working for them. Hyderabad market is really expanding. We can tap lot of MNC market as well as domestic market in Hyderabad. We have a huge amount of potential to improve our practice in Hyderabad and make it larger and stronger”.

Raju has over seventeen years of experience in corporate and financial sector. Prime Juris was founded by Raju in 2005. Previously, he was working with ICICI Bank as Corporate Legal Head in Andhra Pradesh. He has also worked with the legal department of Industrial Development Bank of India (IDBI) as an in-house counsel.

The Hyderabad office already has a full service practice and represents clients in diverse fields of Indian law and with this merger, Kochhar will further strengthen its practice in Hyderabad. The firm is planning to increase the bench strength to about 20 to 25 in its Hyderabad office. At the moment, lot of restructuring is going on and some of the people from Delhi may be seconded to Hyderabad office.
