Prashanth Sabeshan has joined Majmudar & Co. as a Partner with effect from February 16, 2011. Prashanth will be based in the Bangalore office but will work across all offices in India to look after the firm’s banking and infrastructure practice.

Prashanth Sabeshan has joined Majmudar & Co. as a Partner with effect from February 16, 2011.

Prashanth will be based in the Bangalore office but will work across all offices in India to look after the firm’s banking and infrastructure practice. Prior to joining Majmudar, Prashanth was working as an in-house Senior Counsel on an Indonesian infrastructure project and was based in Singapore.

Speaking to Bar & Bench Prashanth said, “I am looking forward to enhance the capabilities of the banking and infrastructure practice of the firm at the national level”.

Prashanth is a graduate of National Law School of India University, Bangalore. He has previously worked with Norton Rose in Singapore and Freehills in Melbourne, Australia. Before that he was a Partner at the Mumbai office of Amarchand Mangaldas in the infrastructure and project finance group. He worked with Amarchand for over 10 years before he moved to Freehills. 

Speaking to Bar & Bench Majmudar Managing Partner Akil Hirani said, “Prashanth will bolster our banking and infrastructure practice, and we are very happy to have him on board”.

Prashanth is dual qualified both in India and UK  and has extensive experience in general corporate and commercial law with a special focus on joint-ventures and equity investments in infrastructure projects, development of greenfield and brownfield energy projects, infrastructure development, mining projects, gas projects, construction, project financing, security and credit documentation and trade financing.

This takes the total number of Partners at the firm to 7 with 5 in the Mumbai office and 2 in the Bangalore office.
