Since late last year, we have built a network of Campus Ambassadors across more than fifty law schools all over India. These law students have been providing us with information on campus events and activities, and also sharing legal articles.

This series of interviews is meant to turn the spotlight on these hardworking and dedicated individuals.

In this edition, we speak with Anany Upadhyay a fourth-year student of law at Jamia Milia Ismalia.

(Edited excerpts)

Why did you choose to study law?

Even though I was a science student back in school with avid interest in Physics I was always intrigued by the language of the preamble of the Indian Constitution which was imprinted in the NCERT text books.

I did a little research on the history of Preamble and its amendments and that is when I decided that I need to explore the field of law. Apart from law I had an avid interest in physics wanted to pursue my career in the same.

What made you choose to be a Bar & Bench Campus Ambassador?

Bar & Bench had always been one of the prominent sources through which I kept myself updated with various developments in the legal field.

One day scrolling through my LinkedIn news feed I came across a post of one of my connections which called for applications for the post of campus ambassador for Bar & Bench and since it being such a rare opportunity, I decided to go with it.

Since then my experience as working as a campus ambassador has been quite insightful.

What are your plans after graduation?

After I complete my graduation, I intend to pursue a career in public policy. For that purpose I am looking for post graduation courses in public policy or aligned courses both in India and abroad.
