Know Your Campus Ambassador: Mayank Chauhan, National Institute of Securities Markets

Over the last two years, we have built a network of Campus Ambassadors across more than fifty law schools all over India. These law students have been providing us with information on campus events and activities, and also sharing legal articles.

This series of interviews is meant to turn the spotlight on these hardworking and dedicated individuals.

In this edition, we speak with Mayank Chauhan, an LL.M. candidate at the National Institute of Securities Markets.

Why did you choose to study law?

I find this legal profession very fascinating and exciting. As a career choice, it is intellectually challenging, and financially rewarding. When I was in 12th, I found myself least inclined towards being an engineer as compared to being a social engineer. So, I decided to pursue law. And now from the perspective of an LL.M student, I believe I made the right decision.

What made you apply for the Campus Ambassador post at Bar & Bench?

Bar and bench is the premium online platform that is setting a benchmark in the field of legal journalism. From the beginning of my law career, I personally found that Bar and Bench is more inclined towards updating the legal fraternity with the latest happenings in the field.

Apart from this, I was also looking for ways through which I could enhance my skills of research and drafting, and when I came across this opportunity, I found this is the best way to go with. Being a Bar and bench campus ambassador is a once in a blue moon kind of opportunity!

What are your plans after completing your LL.M.?

As of now, I m pursuing LLM in Securities and Investment law from the premium and prestigious institute established by SEBI and I'm glad to have this opportunity.

And after this, whatever the options may be, I want to work in leading firms and MNCs that are adding value to their clients especially where I can explore and conquer.
