Bhati says Army was "the one dragging its feet" in relation to the policy on permanent commission for women.
Senior Counsel Aishwarya Bhati who represented 45 serving women officers in the Army, speaks to Bar & Bench on the landmark judgment of the Supreme Court which paved the way for permanent commission of women in the Army.
Terming this judgment by the Bench of Justices DY Chandrachud and Ajay Rastogi a "watershed moment", Bhati says that it is a victory for all women since the battle was against a patriarchal mindset.
