A new sitting list for judges of the Bombay High Court has been released. As per the new sitting list, Justice Gautam Patel will now sit in the High Court Bench at Goa for the next 10 weeks, with effect from August 7..Justice SC Dharmadikari, who was sent to the Aurangabad Bench in the last rotation, is back to the Principal Bench at Bombay. Justice SV Gangapurwala, who had come to the Bombay High Court from Aurangabad, is now back in Aurangabad. Justice MS Sanklecha, who was sent to the Nagpur Bench, is also now back in Bombay..Both Justice SS Kemkar and Justice RD Dhanuka will now sit at the Aurangabad Bench as per the new sitting list, while Justice SC Gupte has been moved to Nagpur from Bombay..The posting of judges to other benches of the High Court has been a trend Chief Justice Manjula Chellur has employed during her tenure. The practice of rotating judges among the three benches of the High Court has been used in the past as well..Recently, in an interview with Bar & Bench, former Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court Justice Sujata Manohar had said,.“In my days, we used to send from judges from one high court bench to other benches at least for one term so that the judges get to know their colleagues on the bench, and they could report on the functioning of those benches..That is also how I got to know about the bars in Goa, Nagpur and Aurangabad, which also helped in the recruitment of judges”.
