A mass sanitisation tunnel has been installed at the Gujarat High Court as part of precautionary measures being taken to guard against the spread of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).

As intimated in a press release issued by the High Court,

"This Mass Sanitization Tunnel will act as an disinfectant entry point at one of the main entrance inside building of the High Court from where most of the officers and staff enter the premises."

Instructions placed outside the tunnel direct the entrants to not to rush while going through the tunnel, to not exit the tunnel for at least 15 seconds and not to smoke, as there is highly flammable material involved.

The tunnel was installed over the last weekend ahead of sittings scheduled for April 15 to take up long pending bail matters. Persons entering the High Court through the tunnel are expected to walk slowly through the tunnel, in which vapour is released from the ceiling, meant to disinfect the on-walkers.
