Referring to the Press Conference he said,.“There is a need in the judiciary to invoke self correcting measures. Whether those self correcting measures need to be publicised or not can be debated”.Union Minister of Law and Justice Ravi Shankar Prasad also spoke at the inauguration. He said that 469 High Court judges have been appointed in the last 5.5 years. “We will fast track appointments” he stated..Notably, Minister Ravi Shankar further also pointed out that while selecting judges, the collegium should ideally look into families, from where there have been no representation in the Judiciary as well..“Who should be appointed as a Judge is left to the collegium.
