The Court of Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Rouse Avenue is hearing former Union Minister, MJ Akbar's criminal defamation case against Priya Ramani for her allegations of sexual harassment against Akbar.
Newly-appointed Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Ravindra Kumar Pandey is hearing the matter.
"The case is compoundable. Is there any scope of a settlement?", Judge Ravindra Kumar Pandey had asked during the last hearing.
While counsel for Ramani, Advocate Bhavook Chauhan answered in negative, Senior Advocate Geeta Luthra for MJ Akbar said that she would have to take instructions from her briefing counsel.
At one of the previous hearings, Senior Advocate Geeta Luthra questioned Ramani's credibility for making statements against Akbar without due care and caution. She emphasized upon Akbar's impeccable reputation to buttress her submission that Priya Ramani defamed Akbar when she accused him of sexual harassment.
