The Supreme Court on Monday declined to grant any interim protection for coercive action to former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh in a money laundering case registered by the Enforcement Directorate (ED)..A Bench headed by Justice AM Khanwilkar said that it is open to Deshmukh to pursue appropriate remedies under law. "We are not inclined to grant any interim relief. The petitioner is at the liberty to access remedies under Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC)," the Court said..Deshmukh had moved Supreme Court after the ED issued notice to him seeking his appearance in a money laundering case.
