The interactive session on the theme “The Constitution & The Times: Four Decades of My Professional Journey” will be held on July 18, Saturday at 11.30 am.
The Confederation of Alumni for National Law Universities (CAN Foundation) is organizing an interactive session on the theme “The Constitution & The Times: Four Decades of My Professional Journey”, featuring Senior Advocate and former Member of Parliament Kapil Sibal.
Sibal shall speak broadly on the following themes:
His decision to indulge in the legal profession and his Journey in the legal profession;
Kapil Sibal as a lawyer, a politician and a poet;
Qualities of courteous Judge and a persuasive lawyer, pro bono lawyering etc.;
His views on recent developments in the field of Law ranging from anti-defection laws, false encounters and custodial tortures, the dispensation of justice and challenges to the same in the Virtual Court setup.
The session will be moderated by Sunil Fernandes (Counsel, Supreme Court of India and Delhi High Court). Fernandes is an Advocate-on-Record practicing in the Supreme Court of India. He has served as the Standing Counsel for the State of Jammu and Kashmir and also as the Additional Advocate General for the State of Madhya Pradesh.
The Co-Moderator for the session is Shivang Dubey (Advocate, Chhattisgarh High Court and Executive Committee Member, CAN Foundation).. Shivang is a graduate of one of the Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur. He went on to do his Master of Laws (LLM) in International Commercial Law from Cardiff University, Wales. He is currently practising in Chhattisgarh High Court.
