Bar & Bench

Burgeon Law has launched Bloom@Burgeon, a flagship internship program specially designed for aspiring PE-VC (Private Equity-Venture Capital) and startup lawyers.

With a focus on practical skills and knowledge, Bloom@Burgeon will be a curriculum-driven dynamic platform, specifically curated to immerse interns into the world of private equity, venture capital, and startup law and give them a practical real-life exposure to these areas. Through a meticulous blend of hands-on training and theoretical insights, interns will gain a deep understanding of critical facets, ranging from deal structuring, due diligence, to the intricate art of drafting and negotiating term sheets, shareholders agreements, and beyond.

Bloom@Burgeon has also been created to foster a robust professional network, offering several avenues for interns to interact with industry pioneers.

Through a series of engaging activities that will supplement the curriculum, like networking events, panel discussions, immersive workshops, ad competitions, the interns will find themselves at the epicenter of a thriving PE-VC ecosystem.

Roma Priya, Founder of Burgeon Law, elaborated on the significance of the program,

Our learning curve from working with aspiring and ambitious clients over the last 8 years has helped us deliver comprehensive, holistic, commercially viable and tailored solutions. It was time that we shared this learning curve with those who will shape tomorrow.

Bloom@Burgeon was conceptualized with this vision – an internship program that is completely focused on familiarizing the interns with inside functioning of PE-VC world. More than an internship, this will be the transformative journey shaping the lawyers of tomorrow and empowering them with practical nuances of giving shape to disruptive business ideas. Many of our past interns have seamlessly transitioned into working full-time at Burgeon Law and through this program we intend to further upskill budding lawyers into being future-ready.

Explaining further about the initiative, Pratishtha Saini, People Manager at Burgeon Law added,

We’ll run Bloom@Burgeon twice a year as a 12-Week Internship Program to create a cohort of legal professionals well-versed in the nuances of PE-VC and startup operations, 4-weeks being dedicated to each of the three areas.

Equipping law students with practical knowledge specific to these areas will not only enhance legal support for budding entrepreneurs but will also foster a conducive environment for startup growth and innovation.

Bloom@Burgeon will also open doors for some selected interns to be a part of Burgeon Law – and join the firm to witness an environment that encourages creativity, collaboration and entrepreneurship in a hybrid working setup and progressive HR development practices.
