Over the last three years, we have built a network of Campus Ambassadors across more than fifty law schools all over India. These law students provide us with information on campus events and activities, as well as share legal articles.

This series of interviews is meant to turn the spotlight on these hardworking and dedicated individuals.

In this edition, we speak with Manoneet Dwivedi, a third-year law student at the School of Law UPES.

Why did you choose to study law?

Law has always fascinated me. It is only after I gained a little bit of insight into what it takes to be a lawyer did I really get into the idea of making a life in the legal profession. Right after my board examinations, when everyone was talking about the JEE and NEET, I knew that that was not my calling.

A little bit of discussion with my parents about what my passion was, a little bit of consultation with my seniors who were in the field of law and a lot of self-intervention led me to believe that law is something that I can't only do, but do well.

Finally, I made up my mind and decided to ditch the STEM field completely, which I had studied my whole life, and took up Law. I haven’t regretted it once, and am happy with what I get to study and what I aspire to be one day.

What made you apply for the Campus Ambassador post at Bar & Bench?

The Bar & Bench Campus Ambassador Program is a coveted path in so many institutions, and I strongly believe that I have the required experience, outreach and longing to work under pressure. All of that, along with the opportunity that it offers to young budding students is the primary reason I decided to apply to the Campus Ambassador post.

What are your plans after completing law?

After completing law, I would like to join the Bar and practice as an advocate. I strongly believe that advocacy is the epitome of a law student's ambitions, and being a part of a fraternity like that will definitely give me all that I wish for. A field that always keeps you on your toes, takes hard work and perseverance to master and needs a strong headed approach towards life has always fascinated me, which is exactly what life as an advocate will offer me.
