Bar & Bench

Since late last year, we have built a network of Campus Ambassadors across more than fifty law schools all over India. These law students have been providing us with information on campus events and activities, and also sharing legal articles.

This series of interviews is meant to turn the spotlight on these hardworking and dedicated individuals.

In this edition, we speak with Shubham Gupta, a second-year law student at Chandigarh University, Mohali

(Edited excerpts)

Shubham Gupta

Why did you choose to study law? Did you have any other interests before deciding to pursue law school?

From the very early age I had a keen interest in law because of having judges and advocates in my family. I decided to do graduation in law at 9th std because I have good critical thinking and speaking skills.

Why did you choose to become a Bar & Bench Campus Ambassador?

As we know that Bar & Bench is India’s best online legal news platform, it is great pleasure for me to be the campus ambassador because it gives me lot of exposure and opportunities.

Here I get to interact with my peers from other Law institution which is a great source of network building which is essential part of legal career.

What are your plans after graduation?

From the school time I dreamed to become a judge by clearing exam of lower judiciary. But, after entering law school and interning in different places, I have decided to invest few years in litigation and then hopefully be elevated to the High Court.
