Bar & Bench

Since late last year, we have built a network of Campus Ambassadors across more than fifty law schools all over India. These law students have been providing us with information on campus events and activities, and also sharing legal articles.

This series of interviews is meant to turn the spotlight on these hardworking and dedicated individuals.

In this edition, we speak with Avinash Pandey, a student at IFIM Law College, Bangalore

(Edited excerpts)

Why did you Choose to study law? Did you have any other interests before deciding to pursue law school?

When I was a little boy, I always dreamed of becoming a lawyer. I remember sitting on the couch for hours watching numerous shows which motivated me to become one of them.

I have always had a passion to help vulnerable people who did not have the resources to help themselves.

Reading law offers the possibility to produce a range of skills and explore many aspects of human life. It gives you the prospect to intensify your mind, increase your knowledge and expand your experience across the full range of humanities and social sciences.

A law qualification can give you the abilities to be a prosperous lawyer but also a lawmaker, administrator, reporter, diplomat or police officer.

I was very clear with my ambition of becoming a lawyer. Generally, I always pursue any work with some alternative backups but pertaining to my career I was pretty sure.

Why did you Choose to become a Bar & Bench Campus Ambassador?

I chose to become a Bar & Bench Campus Ambassador because this website provides the best quality content and real-time updates of the court proceedings which you don't get easily.

Bar & Bench is a very enlightening platform which helps the infinite number of law students across the nation to get constant update pertaining to the legal fraternity. I' m thankful to Bar & Bench for providing me with this opportunity.

What are your plans after graduation?

After my graduation, I've planned to pursue an LL.M. in IPR law.
