University of Oxford places second at ELSA Human Rights Moot; Indian grad Rahul Bajaj bags Best Orator award

A team representing the University of Oxford has emerged runners-up of the prestigious ELSA Human Rights Moot, 2020.

The four-member team comprising Petra Stojnic, Claire Garrand, Ameer Ismail, and Indian graduate Rahul Bajaj, came second out of 68 teams hailing from 33 countries. The final round of the ELSA moot was held on June 4.

Bajaj, a former Associate at Trilegal and graduate of Nagpur University, also bagged the Best Orator award for the grand finals, the semi-finals and the quarter-finals.

Back in 2017, Bajaj was one of two Indians from the legal field who had been awarded the esteemed Rhodes Scholarship.

The four-member team was coached by Gayathree Kallyat, an alumnus of Gujarat National Law University (GNLU).
