Acting Chief Justices appointed for Delhi, Patna High Courts

The Central Government has notified the appointment of Acting Chief Justices to the High Courts of Delhi and Patna.

Justice S Ravindra Bhat has been appointed as the Acting Chief Justice (ACJ) of the Delhi High Court, since Justice Gita Mittal will be shifting to the Jammu and Kashmir High Court to take up the post of Chief Justice of that Court.

ACJ Bhat will be in charge of the Delhi Court until the newly appointed Chief Justice, Rajendra Menon J assumes charge of the Court.

Justice Ravi Ranjan, the senior most judge of the Patna High Court, has been appointed as the Acting Chief Justice, from the day on which Chief Justice Rajendra Menon relinquishes his office pursuant to his transfer to the Delhi High Court.

Justice Ravi Ranjan will be the Acting Chief Justice of the Patna High Court until Justice MR Shah assumes charge as the new Chief Justice of the Court.
