Delhi High Court celebrates 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi

To commemorate the 150th Birth Anniversary celebrations for our Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, the Delhi High Court Bar Association is organizing the screening of a play, THE GREAT TRIAL, on Friday, August 23.

Directed and written by MK Raina, the play shall be staged at an event being organised at the Jawahar Bhawan, New Delhi from 5 pm onwards.

The grandson of Mahatma Gandhi, Gopal Krishna Gandhi who is the Guest of Honor, will also deliver a special address to the gathering.

Delhi High Court Chief Justice, Justice DN Patel shall be a Chief Guest. The event will also mark the release of DHCBA’s Quarterly Bar Review.

Earlier this week, the DHCBA, in association with the National Gandhi Museum, also set up an exhibition within the Delhi High Court premises. The exhibition was based on the theme, “Gandhi: The Lawyer” and was inaugurated by Chief Justice Patel.

The Exhibition portrayed Mahatma Gandhi’s years a lawyer in India and South Africa, providing a glimpse into the important events in Gandhi Ji’s life as a lawyer and how it helped formulate his ideas and philosophy.

The Exhibition which is being showcased in the lobby of A Block Court building will come to an end on Augst 23.
