Senior Advocate Fali Nariman gave a rousing speech in defence of press freedom in the wake of the CBI raids against NDTV’s Prannoy Roy.

Journalists from the Indian media had gathered at the Press Club of India in Delhi two days ago to stand in solidarity with NDTV.

Nariman questioned the CBI’s decision to launch raids against Roy and his wife solely on the basis of a complaint filed by an individual. He said,

“The manner and circumstances of the CBI raids show that the FIRs filed are an unjustified attack on press and media freedom.”
