Since late last year, we have built a network of Campus Ambassadors across more than fifty law schools all over India. These law students have been providing us with information on campus events and activities, and also sharing legal articles.

This series of interviews is meant to turn the spotlight on these hardworking and dedicated individuals.

In this edition, we speak with Prince Todi, a third-year student at the Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur (HNLU).

(Edited excerpts)

Why did you choose to study law? Did you have any other interests before deciding to pursue law school?

My decision to pursue a career in law was somehow based on my knack for questioning everything that could possibly be and looking for logical explanations to it. Throughout my school days, I performed fairly well in most subjects and narrowing down to one career option seemed difficult until I realized that studying law actually lets one indulge in wide variety of fields at once.

Also, although I barely understood how the courts and the legal system actually worked while choosing law, I always admired the idea of being able to make a case for something I believe in and also being involved in an intellectually challenging and fulfilling experience.

Why did you choose to become a Bar & Bench Campus Ambassador?

An important part of a law students’ life today is being up to date with the latest developments in law, including the affairs of legal luminaries, court rulings, as well as the various cultural and literary events taking place.

Bar & Bench is undoubtedly a one stop platform for all such needs and since I also wanted to work upon something in addition to the academic and literary activities at my law school, I decided to take up the position of campus ambassador at Bar and Bench. It has indeed been a fulfilling experience where I got to work alongside a fair share of the legal fraternity and learned a thing or two about building credible relations.

What are your plans after graduation?

After my graduation, I seek to foster a career in the field of International Arbitration. I plan on to gain work experience in the Disputes Practice of a law firm and then pursue an LLM from abroad. Also, I aspire to be a litigator and start my own practice.
