A team from National Law School of India University, Bangalore has won ConQuest 2016, India’s first national level quiz on the Indian Constitution, organized by Centre for Law and Policy Research (CLPR)..The national finals were held on August 20 at Indian Society for International Law, Delhi. The team of Jaydev CS and Abhishek Choudhary emerged victorious, taking home a cash prize of Rs. 25000..Another team from NLSIU, of Sarthak Gupta and Aradhya Sethia, were the First Runners up and took home a cash prize of Rs. 15,000. The JNU team of of Karthik Manickam and Mohit Srivastava were the second runners-up and won a cash prize of Rs. 10,000..Over 200 hundred teams, from varied disciplines including political science, history, engineering, law, Buddhist studies etc. participated in the regional rounds held in four zones. Eight teams – two from NLSIU, and one each from Symbiosis Law School, VM Salgaocar College of Law, College of Engineering and Technology, Bhubaneswar, National Law University, Orissa, JNU and St. Stephen’s College – made it to the national finals..The Chief Guests were Professor MP Singh, former Vice-Chancellor of NUJS Kolkata, and Dr. Ronald Meinardus, Director of the Regional Office of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom.
