#RecTracker: GLC Mumbai places 97 in Class of 2016, holds first ever Day Zero [Updated]

The Government Law College in Mumbai has recently ended the recruitment process for the graduating batches of 2016, with a total of ninety-five ninety-seven students placed. Of the 600-odd students across the 3-year and 5-year course, 60 students were recruited through the college’s placement committee while the remaining 35 students were privately placed.

In terms of recruiters, Wadia Ghandy & Co has picked up five students, with Desai & Dewanji, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, Parimal K Shroff, and Nilesh Ojha & Associates recruiting four students each. Interestingly, Cyril Amarchand had made seven offers, including one pre-placement offer.

Two students have been placed in the chambers of practicing lawyers (Manoj G Menda and Neel G Helelkar) while one student has been placed as a judicial clerk in the Delhi High Court.

In addition to this, the college held its first ever Day Zero in the month of February this year. During the day zero recruitments, a total of six students from the Class of ’17 were placed with Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas and AZB & Partners picking up two students; Talwar Thakore & Associates, and Trilegal recruited one student each.

Private Placements

When it comes to non-placement committee related recruitments, a total of thirty-five students have been recruited across law firms, corporate, and individual counsels. Of these, Bharucha & Partners recruited five students.

The GLC Placement Committee has Prof. H.D. Pithawalla as Professor In-Charge while the General Secretary is Arpit Kumar Mishra, and the Assistant General Secretary is Ayushi Arora.

The “Senior Coordinators” of the Placement Committee include Aradhana Yadav, Anuja Mukunde, Chandra Tanay Chaube, Ishita Pandey, Osheen Chawla, Rucha Kolte, Saad Khan, and Yashika Joshi.
