HSA Advocates has been appointed as the Legal Advisor for the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link Project (Project)..The HSA team will be headed by Mumbai Partner Anjan Dasgupta, who will be supported by a team from Mumbai and Delhi offices..HSA will be involved in detailed feasibility study and bid process management for selection of concessionaire for the Project. HSA is part of the KPMG, Arup and Consulting Engineering Services consortium appointed by Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA)..Speaking to Bar & Bench, Managing Partner Hemant Sahai said, “We are honoured to have been selected for this project. This selection, which was primarily based on technical experience weightage, reaffirms our premium position as infrastructure lawyers. With this, we are now working on two of the largest infra projects in the city of Mumbai, i.e. the Navi Mumbai airport and the MTHL”..The proposed Project will consist of construction of a road cum metro bridge across the Mumbai Harbour connecting Sewri (in Island city of Mumbai) to Nhava-Sheva (Mainland) in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. MMRDA envisages the total length of the link will be around 22 kilometres comprising of 6 lane of Road Bridge with provision for a twin track metro, making it one of the longest multi modal bridges in the world. The project will help in developing the mainland and reducing pressure on Mumbai City..HSA had earlier bagged the legal consultant’s role for the Navi Mumbai Airport from CIDCO.
