The Alliance Centre for Corporate and Commercial Law (ACCL), Alliance School of Law, Alliance University, Bengaluru, will host the 2nd Alliance Model GST Council (AMGSTC 2026) on September 4 and 5, 2026.
The competition is a national academic simulation of the Goods and Services Tax Council constituted under Article 279A of the Constitution.
This year's agenda is pointedly topical: technology-neutral GST rate rationalisation and the input tax credit framework for green mobility — the taxation of electric and hybrid vehicles, the inverted duty structure, and Section 17(5) blocked credit for corporate fleets.
The questions track debates that have only sharpened since the GST 2.0 rationalisation of September 2025.
The proceedings will be adjudicated by a distinguished panel drawn from the bench, the bar, and the tax profession.
The Valedictory Session will be graced by Prabhakaran PM, Judicial Member, Goods and Services Tax Appellate Tribunal (GSTAT), as Chief Guest, with senior counsel and practitioners from leading firms serving across both days.
The competition is open to law students across the country. Each delegation comprises two members — a State Finance Minister and a Principal Secretary. A detailed Problem Statement, Rules, and Participant's Guide are provided; no prior specialisation in tax law is assumed.
Puliani And Puliani Publications is the publication partner for the competition. Prabhakaran PM will be launching the Book on GSTAT written by MG Kodandaram.
Registration fee: ₹3,000 per delegation (optional accommodation, ₹1,500 per participant).
