Deeksharambh 2026: NLU Delhi welcomes incoming students

National Law University Delhi (NLUD) on July 19 hosted its Student Induction Programme, Deeksharambh 2026, for the 19th batch of the B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) programme at the University Auditorium.

The newly admitted students were welcomed by the Vice Chancellor, Prof GS Bajpai, along with members of the University leadership and faculty.

The ceremony commenced with the lighting of the lamp and the national anthem, followed by a welcome address delivered by the VC.

The University hosted distinguished dignitaries for the occasion. Justice Rajendra Menon, Chairperson of the Armed Forces Tribunal and former Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court, attended as the Guest of Honour and shared valuable reflections with the new cohort.

The Chief Guest, Justice MM Sundresh of the Supreme Court, addressed the gathering, offering insights into the law, the pursuit of justice, and the responsibilities that lie ahead for aspiring legal professionals.

As part of the programme, the All India Rank 1 holder of AILET 2026 was awarded a scholarship, while several other meritorious students were felicitated for their exceptional academic achievements and successful admission to National Law University Delhi. 

The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks delivered by Prof Risham Garg, Registrar, NLU Delhi.

The programme continued with orientation sessions on institutional policies and academic frameworks. Faculty members engaged with students through a series of informative sessions, including an introduction to academic programmes, rules and regulations by Prof Anju Tyagi; examination rules and regulations by Prof Ritu Sharma; and Hostel rules and regulations by Prof Niraj Kumar. The sessions also included a briefing on Nasha Mukti Abhiyaan & Narco Coordination Centre (NCORD) by Prof Maheshwar Singh.

As per a press release, Deeksharambh 2026 was designed to familiarise students with the academic ethos, institutional framework, and community life at NLU Delhi, marking the beginning of a transformative and intellectually enriching journey.
