The Centre for Constitutional Law (CCL), Dharmashastra National Law University (DNLU), Jabalpur will be hosting Nyayanama which will be a simulation of the Constituent Assembly.

Participants will get to step into the shoes of nation-builders, navigate party politics, ideological differences, and the art of compromise to draft a working constitution.

The competition will be held in two stages. The first is a preliminary round that takes place online, wherein participants have to submit a 2-minute video voicing their stance on a scenario based on a contemporary sociopolitical issue.

The last date to register for the preliminary round is October 24, 2025.

Participants will be judged on their oratory skills, clarity, persuasive power, and ability to think critically about complex problems. Only 40 participants will be shortlisted from this round to advance to the main event.

Participants will required to pay a preliminary registration of ₹500 and submit their video via this Google Form.

The preliminary problem can be accessed here.

The main event will take place on the DNLU campus from November 22-23, 2025 where the shortlisted delegates will be divided into fictional political parties through a draw of lots.

These parties will mirror real-life politics and will be designed purposely to be unequal. Parties will be provided with a dossier of each country and a portfolio of parties' ideology.

Over four rounds, each accompanied by a motion, the participants will deliver speeches, propose amendments, debate with opponents, and negotiate with allies.

Every proposal that passes adds not only to the party's strength but to the delegate's credibility, rewarding those who can balance conviction with compromise.

Aside from the process, Nyayanama's soul is in the practice of democratic deliberation, and that demonstrating disagreement activates dialogue instead of silencing it.

Participants will have to think outside the self, write laws, practice persuasion, negotiation, and visioning that characterize leadership.

Based on oration, constitutional reasoning, strategic engagement, and collaboration prizes will be awarded to participants.

  • Nyaya Ratna (Best Delegate – 1st Prize): Certificate of Merit, a cash prize of 40,000/-, and free access to any three courses conducted by The Legal Voice.

  • Samvidhan Shiromani (Distinguished Delegate – 2nd Prize): Certificate of Merit, a cash prize of 25,000/-, and free access to any two courses conducted by The Legal Voice.

  • Rajya Vidhyarthi (3rd Prize): Certificate of Merit, a cash prize of 15,000/-, and free access to any one course conducted by The Legal Voice.

  • Honourable Mentions: Two participants will receive a Certificate of Special Mention for distinguished performances.

Nyayanama invites students to reimagine constitutional tomorrows, pay respects to the legacy of the Constitution Assembly and embody the spirit of constitutionalism.
