HNLU holds awareness and pledge-taking programme under 'Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat' campaign

Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU), Nava Raipur on August 2 organised an awareness and pledge-taking programme under the Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat campaign.

The programme was coordinated by the Legal Aid and Social Services Committee (LSSC), HNLU.

The initiative formed part of the Government of India’s Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat campaign, which seeks to mobilise young people towards a drug-free lifestyle and build a healthier, aware and empowered generation as an essential foundation for a developed India.

In a solemn gathering, the pledge was administered at 11 a.m. in front of the statue of Mahatma Gandhi on the HNLU campus. Students, faculty members and staff participated in large numbers and collectively pledged to uphold healthy values, spread awareness about the harmful consequences of substance abuse, carry the message of drug-free living to society and contribute towards realising the vision of Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat.

In his message on the occasion, Prof (Dr) VC Vivekanandan, Vice-Chancellor (VC), HNLU, emphasised the critical role of young people in creating a healthy and socially responsible society. He stated,

“A Viksit Bharat must necessarily be built upon the strength of a healthy, informed and empowered youth. The fight against substance abuse cannot remain confined to regulation and enforcement; it must become a movement of awareness, individual responsibility and collective social action. Universities have a special responsibility to nurture young minds that can become ambassadors of healthy choices and positive change.”

He reiterated HNLU’s commitment to sensitising its student community and contributing to the larger national endeavour towards an aware, empowered and drug-free India.

As part of the programme, students, faculty and staff also generated their individual Pledge Certificates online through the MY Bharat Application.

Dr Deepak Kumar Srivastava, Registrar, HNLU, facilitated the institutional arrangements for the programme. Dr Kaumudhi Challa, Convenor, LSSC HNLU, proposed the formal vote of thanks.

The programme was coordinated at the student level by Pragati Dhruv and Prashant Kumar Banjare, Student Convenors, LSSC HNLU, whose efforts contributed to the successful organisation of the initiative.

Through its participation in the Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat campaign, HNLU reaffirmed its commitment to extending legal education beyond classrooms and fostering among its students a deeper sense of social responsibility, community engagement and nation-building.
