The Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur (HNLU), through its Centre for WTO and WIPO Studies, School of Law and Technology, recently hosted an International Colloquium on “The World Trade System: Tips and Strategies for Understanding the Dynamics of International Trade Law” on August 18, 2025.

The Colloquium hosted Dr. Neha Mishra, Assistant Professor, International Law Department at the Graduate Institute in Geneva, Switzerland, and an alumnus of National University of Singapore and University of Melbourne.

After outlining the current framework of the international trading system, particularly that governed by the WTO, Dr. Neha engaged with contemporary questions on the intersection between international trade and the digital economy, the effects that rapid developments may have on India and other developing countries, and with the challenges that AI-integration poses.

Towards the end of the session, she also explained her journey of being introduced to international trade law and gave a few words of advice to students aspiring to secure a career in the field.

The colloquium was open to students from HNLU and other institutions, and it drew international participants from countries like Bangladesh and the USA.

The colloquium also saw the participation of Dr. Ankit Awasthi and Urvi Shrivastava from the Centre for WTO and WIPO Studies, School of Law and Technology, HNLU Raipur.

The event was anchored by HNLU students, Kruthika Senthil Kumar and Nandana Arun.
