The Institute of Law, Nirma University (ILNU) has announced the sixth edition of its Model United Nations (MUN) conference, ILNU MUN Chapter VI, scheduled to be held from October 30 to November 1, 2026.

The conference will be held under the theme "We create the Future".

ILNU MUN is meant to build critical thinking, strategic negotiation and consensus-building. Delegates debate international issues, follow parliamentary procedure and draft solutions.

Committees and Agendas

The conference will have eight committees with the following agendas:

  • United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC): Political interference in humanitarian and disaster governance, with special reference to the Yemen crisis and resilience building in conflict-affected regions.

  • Bureaucratic Cell: Formulating a national refugee and asylum framework, covering administrative, enforcement and diplomatic responses to India's undocumented refugee population in the absence of a domestic refugee law.

  • Lok Sabha: Comprehensive electoral reforms in India, with special emphasis on implementing One Nation, One Election and ensuring a robust federal architecture.

  • Indian Constituent Assembly (ICA): Determining the federal structure of the Indian Union and the official language of the State, and reconciling national unity with provincial and linguistic autonomy.

  • Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC): The proliferation, regulation and accountability deficit of private military and security companies (PMSCs) in contemporary armed conflict, with special reference to their role in Sub-Saharan Africa and post-Soviet conflict zones.

  • Commission on the Status of Women (UNCSW): The weaponisation of conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV) by non-State armed groups, with special emphasis on territorial subjugation and illicit resource extraction in active conflict zones.

  • BRICS: The New Delhi Declaration 2026, covering de-dollarisation, local-currency payment mechanisms and BRICS resilience against U.S. tariff coercion.
