Rashtriya Raksha University is hosting the 2nd RRU International Moot Court Competition (RIMC) with the theme, ‘International Law and Global Security’ from November 14-16, 2025, at its Gandhinagar campus.

Today's world faces serious global security challenges, from armed conflicts to rising tensions between nations. These issues raise concerns about international law.

For example, some developing countries face sanctions for violating international law. Violations arise, amongst other things, from the trade of dual use items which can be used for both civilian and military purposes.

The theme for the 2nd edition of the RRU International Moot Court Competition, ‘International Law and Global Security' reflects these urgent global issues. The competition invites participants to explore how international law responds to real-world threats and protect the interests of states.

The sub-themes of the 2nd RIMC, 2025, therefore, include the following

I. Admissibility of claims when a State represents corporations before the International Court of Justice (ICJ).

II. Remedies for sanctioned third-country entities under international law.

III. Trade of dual-use items under international law.

IV. Non-compliance with the judgment of an international court.

The dispute resolution forum of RIMC 2025 is the ICJ. The legal issues revolve around admissibility of claims before the ICJ, and effects of non-compliance with the decisions of international courts.

The proposition is designed to enhance participants’ understanding of the foundational concepts of international law and its relevance and applicability to contemporary issues related to global security, thus, promoting advanced research in the subject.
