ILS Pune wins 12th NLIU-VKC Law Offices National Corporate Law Moot

The team from ILS Law College, Pune has won the 12th National Law Institute University (NLIU) - VKC Law Offices National Corporate Law Moot, 2026 held from January 30 - February 1, 2026 at NLIU, Bhopal.

The winning team comprised Aarushi Mishra, Megha Shree and Kaveri Nanduri.

The runners-up team from Faculty of Law, GLS, Ahmedabad comprised Tanushree Drolia, Dhruv Karena and Esha Lathar.

The final round was judged by a bench of Karnataka High Court Justice Chillakur Sumalatha; Delhi High Court Justice Mini Pushkarna; NLIU, Senior Prof (Dr) Ghayur Alam; Dean,Post-Graduate Studies, NLIU, Prof (Dr) Sanjay Yadav; and Managing Partner, VKC Law Offices, Varun Kumar Chopra.

The team from Tamil Nadu Dr Ambedkar Law University - comprised of H Kamaleshnath, Suruthi Sundari N and Bhuvanesh J - won the Best Memorial award.

Pia Agarwal from Jindal Global Law School was awarded Best Oralist.

The moot proposition dealt with issues related to the Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process (CIRP), the override of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC) moratorium by a Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) attachment, cross-border insolvency proceedings under the UNCITRAL Model Law framework, the legality of transferring sensitive personal user data under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) without fresh consent, the treatment of provident fund dues and the classification and valuation of co-mingled Virtual Digital Assets (VDAs) as corporate debtor assets under IBC.
