NLU Meghalaya appoints Prof Jyoti Mozika as Vice-Chancellor

Prof Jyoti Mozika, Head of the Department of Law, North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU), has been appointed Vice-Chancellor of the National Law University Meghalaya (NLU Meg).

Prof Mozika is expected to take charge in August. The post has been vacant since the retirement of NLU Meghalaya's founding Vice-Chancellor, Prof Indrajit Dube, in February. Founding Registrar Kerpa Meida Lyngdoh Nongbri has been serving as Vice-Chancellor in-charge in the interim.

Prof Mozika brings over 27 years of teaching experience. A gold medalist in both her B.A. LL.B. and LL.M., she holds a PhD in Law from the University of North Bengal. She has served four terms as Head of the Department of Law at NEHU and has held several academic and administrative positions at universities and professional bodies across the country.

She is married to Senior Advocate Nitesh Mozika, who also serves as Deputy Solicitor General of India for the Meghalaya High Court.
