Dr Rajendra Prasad National Law University (RPNLU), Prayagraj, concluded its weeklong Student Induction Programme with a Valedictory Session on August 6, 2025.

The event was graced by the presence of Chairperson, Armed Forces Tribunal and former Chief Justice, Delhi High Court Justice Rajendra Menon as the Chief Guest, and Dean, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi, Prof (Dr) Anju Vali Tikoo as the Guest of Honour.

Vice Chancellor, RPNLU, Senior Prof (Dr) Usha Tandon, welcomed the dignitaries and the new batch of students in her address.

Prof Tandon also noted with pride the high percentage of girls in the new batch, calling it a “powerful testament to the evolving landscape of legal education” and expressed confidence that the future of the legal profession lies in the hands of sincere and value-driven youth.

Justice Rajendra Menon, chief guest of the session, delivered an impactful address, reflecting on the remarkable growth in women’s participation in the legal profession and encouraging students to be lifelong learners. Justice Menon spoke about the dynamic transformation of the legal profession, particularly the increasing participation of women.

Recalling his own time as a law student when there were only two women in his class, he expressed pride in the significant strides made in recent decades.

Drawing from his journey and experiences, he reminded students that success in law comes with commitment, perseverance, and an unwavering dedication to justice. He underscored the importance of reading, understanding case facts, and developing sound judgment. Addressing the students as future custodians of justice, he advised them to embrace a mindset of continuous learning, stating that & "learning never ends in the legal profession."

Prof (Dr) Anju Vali Tikoo, in her address, invoked the inspiring life of Dr. Rajendra Prasad and urged students to embody values of justice, social sensitivity, and humanity. She also spoke of the university's commitment to nurturing legal professionals.

Prof Tikoo called Prayagraj as Sangam City, a confluence not only of rivers but of aspirations and changemakers, she emphasized the university’s pivotal role in shaping future leaders.

Assistant Professor, Dr Neha Dubey presented an overview of the orientation programme, which included faculty-student interactions, library familiarization, outreach visits, wellness sessions, and society orientations, each designed to prepare students for their academic journey at RPNLU.

The weeklong Student Induction Programme at RPNLU included a range of academic, cultural, and developmental activities.

Students were engaged in faculty interactions, library orientation, outreach visits to historical and judicial sites, cognitive enrichment sessions, and mental wellness workshops. They were also introduced to various student societies such as Moot Court, Legal Aid, and Debate Committees.

The session concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Head, Department of Law, RPNLU Prof Deepak Sharma, who acknowledged the presence and contributions of the distinguished guests and commended the new batch of students for their enthusiasm and promise.

This valedictory session served as a beginning to a transformative journey in law for the students, reinforcing RPNLU’s commitment to holistic legal education and excellence.
