SRM Institute of Science and Technology, through its SRM School of Law, has entered into a strategic partnership with Tessolve Semi Conductor Private Limited to strengthen industry-academia collaboration and redefine legal education through experiential learning, innovation, and professional engagement.

The partnership was formalized through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by Dr YSR Murthy, Provc-Law (SRMIST) and Dr Veerappan V, Co-founder and President of Tessolve Semi Conductor Private Limited recently.

This collaboration marks a significant milestone in SRM School of law’s vision to bridge the gap between academic excellence and industry relevance. The MoU establishes a robust framework for the exchange of students, scholars, and faculty members, creating opportunities for immersive learning, applied research, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

As part of the partnership, students of the School of Law will benefit from internships, co-guided research initiatives, industry-led academic projects, and mentorship opportunities designed to equip them with practical legal and corporate expertise. The collaboration also aims to enhance employability by facilitating structured placement opportunities across Tessolve’s offices in India.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr YSR Murthy said,

“This partnership reflects SRM School of law commitment to creating a transformative educational ecosystem where academic learning is seamlessly integrated with industry engagement. By collaborating with Tessolve, we are empowering our law students with experiential learning opportunities, professional exposure, and interdisciplinary perspectives that will prepare them to become globally competent and socially responsible legal professionals.”

Bangalore-based Tessolve Semiconductor Pvt. Ltd. is a Hero Electronix venture and is a leading provider of semiconductor design and engineering services. It is a ₹1000 crore company and is a partner to 18 of the world’s top 20 chipmakers. This strategic partnership aims to foster collaboration in education, research, and innovation.

The alliance further envisions the organization of joint workshops, conferences, training programmes, and knowledge-sharing sessions that will expose students to emerging industry trends, corporate legal practices, and innovation-driven learning experiences.

Beyond academics and career development, both institutions expressed a shared commitment to sustainability and social responsibility. Discussions during the engagement explored collaborative initiatives in environmental sustainability, waste management awareness, legal literacy campaigns, beach clean-up drives, and community outreach programmes aimed at nurturing socially responsible and ethically driven legal professionals.

The interaction also enabled the School of Law to showcase its dynamic academic ecosystem, including its undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, interdisciplinary pedagogy, and emphasis on experiential and practice-oriented legal education.

The MoU signing concluded with learning and a shared commitment to building a long-term partnership grounded in innovation, collaboration, and mutual growth. The alliance is expected to create transformative opportunities for students while contributing meaningfully to the advancement of legal education and industry engagement in India.
