

University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) has appointed Prof. Nawneet Vibhaw as the Head of its School of Law.
A legal practitioner and academic with over 18 years of experience, Nawneet brings expertise in environmental law, ESG, climate policy, and sustainability.
Nawneet holds a B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) from National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR) University of Law, Hyderabad, and an LL.M. in Environment, Energy, and Climate Change from Lewis & Clark Law School, Portland, Oregon, USA and has been a Partner at Indian law firms like Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co. and Khaitan & Co. and also a law professor at National Law University Delhi (NLUD) and Jindal Global Law School (JGLS), Sonipat.
He has been awarded fellowships and recognitions from organisations including the Belgian Science and Policy Office (BELSPO), UK-India Education and Research Initiative (UKIERI), Robert Bosch Foundation, Asian Development Bank, and the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC).
Speaking on his appointment, Nawneet Vibhaw said, "I am honoured and grateful to UPES for entrusting me with the responsibility to lead its law school. I look forward to using my experience in legal practice and legal academia at quality institutions, to help the School of Law at UPES in imparting quality legal education and producing graduates which don’t just do well for themselves but also for the society and our country.”
