BITS Law School (BITSLAW) has established a 'Centre for Research in Innovation Law for Shared Prosperity' (CRISP) in the BITS Pilani, Greater Mumbai Campus. One of CRISP's initiatives is the Innovation Law and Policy Fellowship.
The Innovation Law and Policy Fellowship aims to foster cutting-edge research in the intersection of IP Law, technology innovation, and policy.
The fellowship focuses on three key areas
1. Role of IPRs in an innovation economy, with a focus on mobile communication technologies.
2. Policy discourse and emerging jurisprudence on IPRs in mobile communication technologies.
3. Creation and commercialization of IP in India by startups and SMEs, with a focus on patents.
The fellowship hopes to attract academicians, postdoctoral researchers, legal practitioners, Master's students, advanced graduate students, and researchers in policy think tanks to engage in impactful, policy-relevant research.
The fellowship involves at least three round table meetings in hybrid mode where the fellows will be acquainted with the technology, policy landscape, legal discourse, jurisprudence, and the business aspects.
The meetings will also provide a forum for the fellows to discuss their work in progress before a panel of experts and receive feedback and comments.
The fellows will present their final work in the conference scheduled at the end of the fellowship, which gets published in a SCOPUS indexed book.
Each selected fellow will receive a stipend and one fellow who produces the best paper will receive a generous monetary award.
Scholars and faculty are encouraged to apply and be part of the fellowship by sending a brief proposal and an updated CV to crisp@bitslawschool.edu.in by April 15th, 2025.
