Call for Papers: The NUALS CLD Securities Law Review (Submit by 27 Mar)

The Centre for Law and Development (CLD) is a research initiative led by Dr Balakrishnan K., the Director of CLD and Associate Professor at the National University of Advanced Legal Studies, Kochi (NUALS).

The Centre is primarily known for its contribution in the field of securities law through its securities law newsletter, which has been providing legal literature and excellent dissemination of capital market-related developments for over a decade.

The NUALS Securities Law Review is an academic journal that focuses on securities law and capital markets, featuring articles by members of the legal community in these fields.

CALL FOR PAPERS

The NUALS Securities Law Review is inviting submissions for its first volume to be published in May 2023. Contributions are encouraged from academicians, legal professionals and law students.

TOPIC

The submissions must be an original work of the author(s) relating to recent developments and events related to Securities Law and Capital Markets. Preference will be given to submissions that provide critical analysis of legal questions accompanied by possible solutions for the same.

SUBMISSION CATEGORIES

The SLR accepts submissions in the form of:

  • Case Comments: 2000 – 5000 words

  • Essays: 2500 – 5000 words

  • Articles: 5000 – 10000 words

SUBMISSION PROCEDURE AND GUIDELINES

  • Exclusive Submission Policy - The Submission should be original work and should not be submitted simultaneously to any other publications

  • Zero Plagiarism - Plagiarism is strictly prohibited and all references taken should be cited.

  • After review, manuscripts may be returned to authors suggesting changes to content, style or structure. Acceptance of the piece for publication may be made contingent upon incorporating the suggestions.

STYLE AND FORMATTING GUIDELINES

  • The submissions must be accompanied by an abstract of not more than 250 words and

  • All manuscripts should be formatted in Times New Roman, size 12 and line spacing of 1.5. The citations should in Times New Roman and size 10 and line spacing 1.

  • Footnotes are required and it should be in the Bluebook 20th Edition format. The word count is exclusive of footnotes.

  • All submissions should be in .doc or .docx format.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

  • The submissions shall be subjected to a peer-reviewed process by the editors and the final decision shall lie at the discretion of the board of editors.

  • Co-authorship of papers is allowed up to three persons.

  • In order to facilitate an independent, innovative dialogue on securities law and capital markets, we invite students as well as professionals to send in their entries to cld@nuals.ac.in on or before March 27 2023.

PRIZES

A consolidated cash prize of ₹10,000 will be distributed among the top submissions in each category.
