Over the last three years, we have built a network of Campus Ambassadors across more than fifty law schools all over India. These law students provide us with information on campus events and activities, as well as share legal articles.

This series of interviews is meant to turn the spotlight on these hardworking and dedicated individuals.

In this edition, we speak with Aishwarya Kapoor, a first-year law student at the O.P. Jindal Global University.

Why did you choose to study law?

I started off in the field of mental health, by doing my bachelors in Psychology Honours. After a while I realized that I did want to help people, but I wanted to do something more impactful, meaningful and represents the interests of people at a mass level. I always have been the one to stand up for myself as well as others when faced with injustice and I want to play a part in making things better for everyone around.

What made you apply for the Campus Ambassador post at Bar & Bench?

I thought this portfolio was an excellent match for my personality and strengths. I have a love for the field of law and at the same time, I am very approachable and good at communication.

While applying for the position, I was sure that this would provide me an opportunity of gaining a lot of skills and interacting with many more like minded people, thus giving me new experiences and great learnings along the way. As a student of law, I regularly followed their feed and have always been a fan of their work. This is a great opportunity for me to work under and with Bar & Bench.

And, its Bar & Bench, who wouldn't want to be associated with their name!

What are your plans after completing law?

I am not sure which field to choose at the moment. As much as I am interested in the litigation sector, I am well aware of all the hardships that would be required to be dealt with in order to be associated with the field. I also want to earn well, and this monetary aspect drives me towards the Corporate sector. However, at the end of the day, I know that I started studying law in an attempt in an attempt to try and make a change or help people in any way possible.
