(Edited excerpts)

Saarthak Mongia - School of Law, Manipal University

Why did you choose to study law?

During the school days law was the only things which interested me as a subject while reading newspaper articles and news topics.

While my interest was always there to join NDA but due to age limit I could appear for the exam. While preparing for CLAT the interest developed more.

After failing to clear CLAT there was no thought of dropping law as a career and I began to pursue my interest irrespective of which college I was joining.

Why did you choose to be a Bar & Bench Campus Ambassador?

After knowing about legal journalism during the initial years of my graduation I thought of getting an experience in this field too so the main aim was to secure an internship in the field of legal journalism.

What are your future plans?

After graduation my first aim will be to practice litigation in criminal law as it always interested me during my graduation and mock trial competitions. I have always dreamed to become a good first generation lawyer.
