CLAT Core Committee accepts 9 errors, highest possible increase is 7.25 marks

Bar & Bench

The CLAT Core Committee for the 2017 edition of the exam has admitted to nine errors in the paper.

CLAT Mentor Rajneesh Singh revealed that four questions were cancelled (726, 744, 782, 870), three answers were changed (856, 857, 876) and two questions have more than one answer (727 and 741). He also said that the highest possible increase taking into account all these errors would be 7.25 marks.

Singh had earlier written an article about at least 15 errors in the CLAT paper. Now, he says that there are at least 7 more errors that the Core Committee has failed to address.

Candidates may view their revised score in light of these admitted errors by entering their login details on the CLAT website here.

This is not the first time CLAT has been riddled with errors. The 2015 edition faced a considerable amount of litigation in different high courts after the Core Committee admitted only two errors in the paper. It remains to be seen if this year’s paper will meet a similar fate.

Previous papers have also had their fair share of litigation. The 2016 edition, held by RGNUL Patiala, surprisingly broke the trend, with the examination and the subsequent admission process going relatively smoothly
