The Centre for Tax Laws (CTL), National Law University Delhi (NLU Delhi), in collaboration with Khaitan & Co is organising the 1st NLU Delhi – Khaitan & Co Certificate Course on Taxation Laws scheduled from April 3-4, 2026.

About the course

The two-day certificate course on direct and indirect tax is a practice-oriented academic initiative designed to bridge learning with the realities of commercial tax practice.

The programme will feature lectures and interactive discussions led by leading practitioners from Khaitan & Co’s tax team and will provide participants with a foundational understanding of major areas of taxation law.

The course is structured to provide participants with a foundational understanding of both direct and indirect taxation, covering areas such as:

  • Basics of tax and constitutional framework

  • Customs law

  • GST laws

  • Administrative law principles in indirect tax

  • Fundamentals of income tax

  • International taxation

  • Landmark judicial decisions in tax

  • Tax assessments, appeals and litigation

The programme will also include a group-based case study exercise based on contemporary tax disputes currently pending before Indian courts.
