Bar & Bench

Over the last two years, we have built a network of Campus Ambassadors across more than fifty law schools all over India. These law students have been providing us with information on campus events and activities, and also sharing legal articles.

This series of interviews is meant to turn the spotlight on these hardworking and dedicated individuals.

In this edition, we speak with Ekta Varshney, a third-year law student at the Aligarh Muslim University.

(Edited excerpts)

Why did you choose to study law?

Law being a fabric which is available in every aspect of life, even if one avoids to be near law people, they can't ignore Law. This ubiquity compelled me to choose law as a career.

What made you apply for the Campus Ambassador post at Bar & Bench?

Legal Journalism has been in India because of Bar & Bench and being a part of Bar & Bench in itself an achievement. Also, my inclination towards legal journalism made me apply for the post of campus ambassador.

What are your plans after completing law?

My plans are still undecided, may be Judiciary or litigation.
