MNLU CS announces national client counselling competition honouring late Senior Advocate PM Shah: Register Now

Maharashtra National Law University, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (MNLUCS) and it's Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution (CADR), and Centre for International Corporate and Commercial Laws (CICCL) are organizing the 'Senior Advocate late Shri PM Shah National Client Counselling Competition, 2026'.

The competition pays tribute to Late PM Shah, a designated Senior Advocate of the Bombay High Court and former Vice-Chairman of the Bar Council of Maharashtra & Goa.

The client counselling competition will simulate a law office consultation where participants (counsels) interact with a client to elicit information, outline problems, and propose solutions.

Themes

The problems for the competition will be based on a spectrum of laws, including:

  • Cyber law / Technology law

  • Mediation law

  • Contract law

  • Corporate law

  • Arbitration law

Eligibility and team composition

  • Eligibility: Students enrolled in three-year or five-year law degree programs from any University, Law School, or College are eligible.

  • Team Size: Each team shall comprise two participants only (Counsel 1 and Counsel 2).

  • Selection: Participation is limited to 40 teams on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Date and venue

  • Dates: 14th and 15th March, 2026.

  • Venue: Maharashtra National Law University, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Campus, Nath Valley Road, Kanchanwadi, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra.

Registration Details

  • Deadline: The last date for registration is March 5, 2026.

  • Fee: ₹7,000/- per team.

  • Inclusions: The fee covers accommodation and food.

    Note: Accommodation is provided from 6:00 PM on 13th March to 10:00 AM on 16th March 2026.

  • Process: Teams must fill out the Google Form and submit proof of payment. A Team Code will be assigned within 48 hours of successful registration.

Awards and prizes

  • Winning Team: Trophy + Cash Prize of ₹30,000/-.

  • 1st Runners Up: Trophy + Cash Prize of ₹20,000/-.

  • Best Counsel: Trophy + Cash Prize of ₹10,000/-.

  • EBC Learning Subscription: The Winning Team and Best Counsel will receive a 1-year complimentary subscription worth ₹14,500/- each.

  • Certificates: All participants will receive a Certificate of Participation.
