Amity University, Kolkata wins HNLU-NHRC Moot Court Competition

The HNLU-NHRC Moot Court Competition focused on the pursuit of justice and protection of human rights.

Amity University, Kolkata won the Hidayatullah National Law University- National Human Rights Commission (NHNLU-NHRC) Moot Court Competition, 2024.

The winning team comprised Aditya Bhura and Drishti Banerjee. The team from Chanakya National Law University (CNLU), Patna of Ojal Maurya, Ananya Giri and Apoorva Singh were declared runners up.

Over 20 teams from across the nation participated in the event.

The competition was sponsored by NHRC and was held between 20-22 September, 2024. The moot was inaugurated by NHRC Chairperson Vijaya Bharati Sayani and NHRC Registrar Joginder Singh.

In his opening remarks, HNLU Vice-Chancellor Prof VC Vivekanandan emphasised that the moot problem addressed issues concerning tribal rights.

The finals were adjudged by former Director of the National Judicial Academy Justice G Raghuram, Professor Chancellor of IILM University Prof Ranbir Singh and Vice-Chancellor of SRM University Prof Paramjit S Jaswal, among others.

Aditya Bhurra from Amity University, Kolkata and Ojal Maurya from Chanakya National Law University, Patna were judged as the Best Speakers. Keertana Bashishta from University School of Legal Studies was awarded Best Researcher.
