HNLU to hold 3rd Justice Hidayatullah International Moot Court Competition 2026: Register by Feb 5

The moot problem for HIMCC 2026 focuses on clean energy, environmental sustainability, and climate justice.

Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU), Raipur has announced the 3rd Justice Hidayatullah International Moot Court Competition (HIMCC) 2026 to be held at the HNLU campus, Nava Raipur from March 13-15, 2026.

The Justice Hidayatullah International Moot Court Competition stands as a tribute to Justice Mohammad Hidayatullah, one of India’s most distinguished jurists and former Chief Justice of India. The competition has established itself as an international platform that has witnessed participation from national and international law universities.

Preliminary, quarter-final, semi-final, and final rounds will be judged by a distinguished panel comprising judges of the Chhattisgarh High Court, senior advocates, law firm partners, and legal academics.

The event will be held in physical mode at the HNLU campus, which is equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure, including a Master Moot Court Hall, multiple subsidiary courtrooms, and a 350-seater auditorium for the Grand Finale.

The HNLU Moot Court Committee (HIMCC Secretariat), comprises of faculty advisors and student convenors who will oversee the conduct of the event. The Faculty Organising Committee is chaired by Vice-Chancellor, HNLU, Prof (Dr) VC Vivekanandan, and coordinated by Organising Secretary, Dr Anindhya Tiwari with Dr Mayank Shrivastava, Dr Amitesh Deshmukh, Dr Ankit Singh, and other faculty members serving as co-secretaries and members.

Key dates for the competition

  • Release of moot problem, opening of registration: November 18, 2025

  • Clarifications deadline: December 30, 2025

  • Final registration: February 5, 2026

  • Competition: March 13–15, 2026

Cash Prizes

  • ₹2,00,000 for the Winners Champion Team,

  • ₹1,50,000 for the Runners-Up,

  • ₹75,000 each for Best Memorial and Best Speaker

  • ₹50,000 for the Best Researcher Award.

Registration

Teams comprising of interested in participating for the memorial round will be required to pay a registration fee of ₹2000.

32 teams that qualify the memorial round shall have to pay a registration fee of ₹8000 without accomodation and ₹12000 with accomodation.
